Őrszem Inn was opened in the autumn of 2008 in Szalafő, which is one of the least unspoilt settlements in Őrség. It can be found in the middle of the protected National Park of Őrség, which attracts those who seek a place to relax, with its beautiful hilly, forested countryside and its sub-alpine climate and uniquely well conserved folk architectural treasures. The village kept its original features, which dates back to 895-896 AD., when the Magyars settled down in the Carpathian Basin. An open air village museum can be found Close to the Inn, which is one of the most frequently visited monuments of Vas County, which preserves the memories of old times.

The population of Szalafő is 230 people. All the locals aspire to protect their heritage and they offer it to the visitors too with good will. Őrszem Inn offers not simply accommodation but also invites the visitors to join the locals for a time-travel and also enables our guests to enjoy the hospitality of the locals and feel part of it.
